The Court of Accounts has participated at the EUROSAI-AFROSAI Workshop in Portugal

During 21-22 of November this year, the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova has attended the first mutual workshop between EUROSAI and AFROSAI regarding the experience exchange within auditing the Sustainable Development Goals (UN Agenda, 2030), that was held in Lisbon, Portugal.

The event was attended by over 150 representatives of supreme audit institutions from over 50 countries (Albania, Andorra, Brazil, Cameroon, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, Moldova a.m.), including the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPSC) and also the representatives of international organizations that were there as observers. (GIZ, AFROSAI, EUROSAI).

The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova was represented at the event by Tatiana Caraman, Head of the General Division of methodology, planning and reporting and Irina Postolachi, principal public auditor in the General Audit Department I.

The workshop represents the first mutual initiative organized within the Memorandum signed between EUROSAI and AFROSAI, both representing the regional groups of the main organization, INTOSAI.

Also, the event represented a perfect occasion to celebrate 170 Years Anniversary since the Tribunal of Accounts from Portugal has its actual form and 630 Years Anniversary since it was primary created.

The workshop aimed to reflect the experience and lessons obtained from the evaluation of the audit of sustainable development goals and also from the specific objectives relevant for the auditing and the recommendations of the supreme audit institution (SAI) reports. The discussions allowed to facilitate the dialog between the SAIs and the interested parts regarding the implementation of the sustainable development goals, the role and contribution of the SAIs and the implementing of the 2030 Agenda.
