The personal data protection field was discussed on May 23, 2019 at the meeting with Viorel Chetraru, Vice-President of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova, with the representatives of the Association for the Private Life Protection and the public organization "The Association of Confidentiality Specialists and Data protection”.

The purpose of the visit was to exchange experience on the field of personal data, to take the practices and procedures to ensure the requirements in the given field, to communicate the concerns and tendencies in the Republic of Moldova and Romania.

During the discussions, the parties addressed issues related to the awareness of the importance of personal data by individuals. In this context, Vice-President of the CoA discussed the importance of this issue, especially the weaknesses identified in the audit missions, which concerned the field of personal data protection and the security level by the audited entities.

Discussions focused on issues related to personal data protection, as identified by the Court of Accounts in audit reports:

• TI audit follow-up report: "How to protect personal data in primary health care processed within automated information systems?"

• IT Performance Audit Report "What are the progress and impediments / risks in the implementation of the e-Government Transformation Project?"

At the end of the meeting, Sergiu Bozianu, the President of the Association for the Private Life Protection, in the framework of building a public-private partnership, mentioned the availability of providing legal support, including participation in bilateral consultations on personal data protection in view of concluding a cooperation agreement with the Court of Accounts.
