Cooperation perspectives of the Court of Accounts with the International Cooperation Agency of Germany

On October 23, the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova received the visit of the representatives of the International Cooperation Agency of Germany (GIZ): Liliane Correa by Oliveira Klaus and Andrei Zapanovici.

The experts had meetings, interviews and discussions with the CoA Board, as well as with the heads of the General Divisions and subdivisions.

The purpose of the mission was to identify and assess the needs of the supreme audit institution in the short term and the expected results, as a result of the support provided by GIZ. In the given context, the mission found out the challenges the Court of Accounts is currently facing and the expectations it wishes to achieve.

"On behalf of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the German Federation, the mission will be organized by the" Eastern Partnership Regional Fund for Public Administration Reform". The fund is implemented by GIZ and aims to improve framework conditions for implementing public administration reform. Through fund-funded projects, capacity building and the development of community of practitioners from experts and leaders in public administration reform are facilitated" said Liliane Correa Oliveira Klaus, GIZ expert.

Following the discussions with the leadership and the heads of the CoA subdivisions, the experts highlighted the most relevant maintenance proposals, such as harmonizing the legal framework with international standards, strengthening the knowledge and designing the CoA working lines by developing a practical guide, developing mechanisms for implementing CoA recommendations, communication capabilities, using the IT tool, developing professional capabilities through training, seminars, study visits, etc.
