Prospects for cooperation of the CoA and SNAO discussed with the management of the CoA

The mission of the Swedish National Audit Office (SNAO) to the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoA), undertaken in the context of the CoA-SNAO Cooperation Project on 26-28 March 2019, aimed at providing support for the component “Management of human resources”.

The SNAO delegation was represented by Jan-Ake Nilsson, Project Manager, Ingela Ekblom, Senior Consultant, Birgitta Bengtsson, Senior Consultant.

During the mission, the SNAO experts had a meeting with Marian Lupu, the President of the CoA. The President noted the importance of the support provided by Swedish experts in the context of institutional consolidation, of which the CoA has been benefited for more than 10 years. Marian Lupu reiterated the opening of the leadership for efficient and effective cooperation to strengthen the CoA’s potential and to have the finality, impact and plausible results of the audit work.

During the work visit, the SNAO representatives also had meetings with Viorel Chetraru, the Vice President of the CoA, Andrei Munteanu, a member of the CoA and Project Leader, as well as employees of the CoA, involved in the activities of the component.

Viorel Chetraru informed the experts about the visions and future intentions of the CoA’s leadership. The CoA should become an authority with a major impact on society, making the audited entities accountable in order to implement the CoA recommendations, said Mr. Chetraru.

Andrei Munteanu, the Project Leader on behalf of the Court of Accounts, informed the experts about the importance and relevance of the planned activities in the human resources management component, in particular, the successful completion of the survey on the level of professional satisfaction of the institution’s staff.

Under the Project, it is planned to develop and conduct a survey on the level of professional satisfaction of the institution’s staff. In this context, a working group of CoA employees was created, guided by the SNAO experts, who will be directly involved in the development of this survey. The activity is intended to support the management of the Supreme Audit Institution in assessing the conditions and working environment of the employees, in order to have an involved and motivated staff that will contribute to institution capacity building.
