2020 priorities discussed with the 5th General Department of Audit

On the 17th of January, the new member of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM), Eduard Morosan, has organized a working meeting with the 5th General Department of Audit, which he patronizes.

During the meeting, Mr. Morosan has discussed with the auditors of the 5th General Department of Audit about the achievements accomplished in 2019. Also there were announced the priorities for 2020 regarding the Department mentioned above by highlighting the planning of the activity and outreaching of all the resources in order to assure the quality of the reports.

In this context, the meeting was attended also by Ecaterina Paknehad – Head of the Staff and Irina Babanuta – Head of Quality Control Service. Mrs. Paknehad mentioned about the changes made to the Law nr.229 from 23.09.2010 regarding internal public financial control and made a presentation, for this purpose, in order to inform the employees about the changes made in the intern control field and the internal audit. The meeting involved the discussion of various topics like changes made in the legal framework of the internal management and control, internal audit, the Code of Ethics, Internal Audit Carta.

As a result of checking the audit reports made in 2019, Irina Babanuta highlighted the most important issues regarding the audit missions in order to improve their quality.

It should be mentioned that as it is stated in the art.35 of the Law nr.260 from 07.12.2017 regarding the organization and functioning of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova, in order to improve the audit process and its results, the Court of Accounts has a well-defined quality control and quality assurance system.
