The relations of the Court of Accounts with the Parliament discussed with the SIGMA experts

Today, on the 5th February, Marian Lupu, the President of the Court of Accounts of Moldova (CoARM) attended a work meeting with the SIGMA experts Alastair Awabrick, principal adviser and Inguna Sudraba, ex-member of the Parliament and ex-General Auditor of the Republic of Latvia.

The meeting was held in the context of the preparation for the workshop “Efficient relationships between the Parliament and the Court of Accounts”, which will take place in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. During the workshop, the representatives of the CoARM and the members of the Public Finances Control Committee will be familiarized with the key-factors and good practices regarding the development of efficient relationships between the supreme audit institution (SAI) and the Parliament, based on the experience of the EU members states.

Marian Lupu saluted the SIGMA’s initiative and highlighted the importance of the good practices concerning the mutual collaboration between the SAI and the Parliament, the necessity of informing the members of the Committee about the experience within similar Committees from other countries, in order to optimize the parliamentary control.
