Corruption risks in the public procurement sector discussed by the Council of Europe experts at the Court of Accounts

Within the cooperation and assistance Project for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus implemented by the Council of Europe and the European Union, a meeting with international experts took place on 3rd of November at the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova.

The fight against corruption and the promotion of good governance, Anti-money laundering were the topics discussed by the international experts Steven Gawthorpe, Richard E. Messick and Zahra Ahmadova. The Court of Accounts was represented by members of the CoA, Head of Staff, Heads of General Divisions, etc.

The discussions were focused on aspects related to the assessment of the risks of corruption in the public procurement sector.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Council of Europe's team of experts addressed issues related to the establishment of vulnerable areas, the treatment of the factors causing the occurrence of corruption manifestations and the identification of practical options and recommendations that will underpin the study on the regional evaluation of the corruption risks in the public procurement sector.

Subsequently, experts will prepare a Report on Corruption Risk Assessment in the Public Procurement Sector.
