Organizational Structure

The Court of Accounts consists of 7 members, including the President and the Vice President of the Court of Accounts.

Top management

The Court of Accounts shall be managed by its President. In the absence of the CoA President, his/her duties shall be carried out by the Vice President.

President

The President of the Court of Accounts shall be appointed by the Parliament for a five-year period, at the proposal of the Parliament Speaker, based on a public competition, with the majority vote of the elected Members of Parliament.

Vice President

The Vice President of the Court of Accounts shall be appointed by the Parliament, at the proposal of the President of the Court of Accounts from among its members.

Members of the Court of Accounts

The CoA Members, except the CoA President, shall be appointed by the Parliament for a five-year mandate, at the proposal of the President of the Court of Accounts, based on a public competition, with the majority vote of the elected Members of Parliament.

Staff

The Court of Accounts carries out its activity through the staff with public audit attributions, the specialized staff and the technical staff.

The personnel with public audit attributions and the specialized personnel fall under the incidence of Law no. 158/2008 on the civil service and the status of the civil servant. The staff with public audit attributions consists of public auditors and trainees in external public audit. The specialized staff assists the staff with public audit attributions in exercising the competences of the Court of Accounts.
