Veaceslav Untila had several meetings with participants at the Fourth Meeting of the EUROSAI Working Group on the Audit of Funds allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes

In the context of the Fourth Meeting of the EUROSAI Working Group Working Group on the Audit of Funds allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes, Mr. Veaceslav Untila, the President of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova had several bilateral meetings with the delegations participating in the event.

At a meeting organized at the CoA, President Veaceslav Untila welcomed the delegation of the Court of Accounts of Ukraine headed by the President of the institution, Valerii Patskan. He mentioned the importance of working together between the two institutions within the EUROSAI Working Group as well as future cooperation plans, including joint and parallel audits.

The meeting focused on sensitive issues regarding the prevention and liquidation of the consequences of disasters and catastrophes for the Republic of Moldova, especially the ecological situation of the Nistru river - the main aquatic artery of the country. Officials agreed to consider the possibility of conducting a joint / parallel audit of the Nistru River basin to elucidate the ecological problems of the river.

Bujar Leskaj, President of SAI of Albania, during the bilateral meeting informed about the international cooperation of the institution, the participation in the work of various working groups of EUROSAI and INTOSAI, as well as the aspects of the audit activity of the SAI. Veaceslav Untila spoke about the strategic objectives of the Court of Accounts regarding the approval of the new Law on the Organization and Functioning of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova, including the changes made.

The possibility of initiating audits in the field of land preservation and earthquake effects has been discussed in a wider format. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Court of Accounts of Romania Tudor Coman, counselor and Constantin Orzoiu, director of the department, and the President of the CoA, Mr. Veaceslav Untila, Tamara Andrusca, Vice-President and Violeta Andries, member of the CoA.

We mention that the meetings took place in the context of the 4th Meeting of the EUROSAI Working Group Working Group Working Group on the Audit of Funds allocated to Disasters and Catastrophes, organized in Chisinau on March 29-30, 2018, which gathered about 28 representatives of 10 supreme audit institutions, such as: Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and Moldova.
