The Delegation of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova recently made a study visit to Romania for a period of 5 days, where a series of meetings and working sessions took place with the representatives of the Romanian Court of Accounts, the Authority the Romanian Audit and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration.

The visit took place in order to meet the requirements of the European regulations on the joint responsibility for the management and control of the programs financed from the European Union funds, at the invitation of the colleagues of the Romanian Audit Authority.

The CoA’s delegation was led by Mrs. Tamara ANDRUSCA, Vice-President of the CoA. The CoA was also represented by Violeta ANDRIES, member of the CoA, Tatiana Vozian, Head of GD, Denis Valac, Chief of GD, and Teodorina Goriuc, State Controller.

The main topics of the discussions were a broad transfer of experience and good practices on the audit of absorption and the implementation of the European Union funds made available to the Republic of Moldova, assuming the joint responsibility for managing and controlling programs financed from European Union funds.

During the visit, Mrs. Andrusca had an amicable meeting with the Prime Minister of Romania, Mrs. Viorica Dăncilă. Mrs. Premier appreciated the European path of the Republic of Moldova, mentioning the importance of involving all state institutions in order to strengthen joint efforts to achieve the external commitments. During the discussions, they reviewed the experiences and actions required, particularly in the field of auditing and supervision of public financial means, in order to advance the association and gradual economic integration into the European Union.

The Romanian institutions have fully opened their doors to support the institutions of the Republic of Moldova in strengthening the management and sound management of financial resources, public patrimony, to promote accountability, fairness and best practices in the field of audit of public resources and EU funds and, last but not least, to help improve the absorption of European funds allocated.
