The Court of Accounts has gained the status of observer in the Contact Committee of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the EU Member States

The Contact Committee of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) from the member countries of the European Union (EU) granted the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) the status of observer within this important European forum.

An information letter in this context has recently been sent by the current Presidency of the Contact Committee, the Court of Accounts of Portugal, with kind regards. Thus, the Court of Accounts will participate in the meetings of the Contact Committee at the level of SAIs’ leaders, as well as contribute to the activity of this European forum.

We note that the acceptance of the CoARM as an observer within the Committee is the result of the initiative of the Court of Accounts and the negotiations carried out during the last years. Discussions in this sense were boosted this May, during the EUROSAI Prague Post-Congress Meeting, an event that brought together the high-level delegations of supreme audit institutions from the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI).

The contact committee is a high-level platform, where the presidents of the supreme audit institutions of the EU member states and the president of the European Court of Accounts meet annually.
