The second meeting of the Subcommittee on Economic and Sectoral Cooperation, established under the Association Agreement Republic of Moldova - European Union was held on 23 June 2016.
On 24 June the delegation of the European Commission (EC) met with the management of the Court of Accounts. The delegation was made up of representatives of the Directorate General for Economic Affairs and Finance of the European Commission: Heliodoro Temprano Arroyo, Head of the Neighborhood Countries - Macroeconomic Assistance Department, Dirk Lefaerts, Head of MFA sector, Gintautas Baranauskas, economic analyst at the Neighborhood Countries - Macroeconomic Assistance Department, and representatives of the EU Delegation in Moldova.
Serafim Urechean, President of the Court informed the guests about the actions implemented and progress of the supreme audit institution of the country in the proces of modernization, in order to achieve the requirements of the Association Agreement RМ-UЕ. Among the activities carried out, the President nominated the elaboration of CoA drafting internal regulations on implementation in the external audit standards accepted internationally, ussued by the International Organization Supreme audit Institutions (INTOSAI), the adjustment of the audit manuals, guidelines, internal regulations, training auditors on the use of international audit standards, elaboration of two law drafts - Law ON National Audit Office and the Law on the amendment of Article 133 of the Constitution.
