The international seminar in Belarus

On 28-29 September, in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus was held the international seminar on "The Role of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent member states in ensuring the economic security: new perspectives and possibilities and the adaption to the current changes". The State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus organized the seminar.

The meeting was attended by delegations of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia. The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoA) was represented by Nina Onofrei, head of the General Division of methodology, planning and analysis.

The decision of helding the seminar in Belarus was taken in June 2016, during the XVI session of the Council of supreme financial control bodies' heads of CIS member states.

The main theme of the international forum was focused on the modern approaches in ensuring the economic security.

The Audit and the financial control conducted by the audit institutions is directed not only on identifying systemic problems in economic and social fields, but also on the development of constructive recommendations to improve the situation and eliminate the gaps, at the legislative level as well.

The seminar participants mentioned that the international cooperation in the current situation is an important factor in combating the economic crimes. The discussions on the main topic and the share of experience gave to all participants, new knowledge to be applied within the control missions.
