On 19 October 2016, Daniel Ionita, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Moldova had a meeting with Veaceslav Untila, President of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoA).
During the visit, they have discussed on the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova and the Court of Accounts of Romania, signed on 28 June 2006.
The meeting of the two officials was auspicious; both sides welcomed the cooperation between the two SAIs. The CoA is thankful for the SAI of Romania's support regarding the capacity building and the alignment to the European standards.
They discussed the further development of the bilateral cooperation, the increase of the quality of auditing of both ISAs and the improvement of the staff performance involved in this activity.
Veaceslav Untila has reiterated the importance of the existence in a modern state of transparent and independent audit institutions in order to reveal all the irregularities that occur in the management of the public funds.
