On 18 November 2016, a seminar "Initiatives for strengthening the education in the accounting and auditing area", within STAREP Programme "Strengthening the accounting education in the Eastern Partnership countries" was organised.
Mrs. Tamara Andrusca, Member of the Court of Accounts, attended this workshop.
STAREP is a regional programme aimed at creating a transparent policy environment and effective institutional framework for corporate reporting within Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The project is managed by the Centre for Financial Reporting Reform, World Bank center for technical expertise in the corporate financial reporting in the Europe and Central Asia.
This seminar was focused on the education challenges in the accounting and auditing area, as well and on the possible ways of modernization, reflecting both the higher education and the continuing professional development, cooperation between profession, university and regulated sector so as to contribute to strengthening the accounting education in the Republic of Moldova.
The purpose of this event was to share the lessons learned at the regional level with the local community, to identify practical and workable solutions on the strengthening education in accounting and auditing at both academic and professional level.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and Moldovan State University, whose representatives are active participants in the regional program STAREP.
