A workshop was organized on March 15 by the EUROSAI Project Audit Response Group on COVID-19, with the participation of representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) from European countries who are members of the group.
The Court of Accounts was represented by Irina Pîntea, Head of the Audit Department and Violeta Balan, Head of the External Relations and Communication Section.
The purpose of the workshop was to discuss different aspects of performing the audit, similar challenges faced by SAIs, as well as to share good practices and own experience.
During the discussions, participants talked about how the methods of conducting the SAI financial audit during the COVID-19 pandemic have changed, the alternative methods that auditors apply for verification and obtaining evidence, when they are unable to travel to entity, obtaining remote evidence and establishing reliable evidence, extending audit deadlines when data and evidence are not available in certain cases due to the COVID-19 pandemic, etc.
The EUROSAI project group on the audit of the response to COVID-19 was created within EUROSAI in 2020, in order to exchange experience and combine efforts in the context of auditing important issues in the pandemic situation.
