Today, July 4, the Parliament approved in plenary session the draft decision on the appointment of Natalia Trofim as Member of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM).
Mrs. Trofim's candidacy was proposed by the President of the Court of Accounts, being selected within a public competition. Mrs. Trofim has a large experience in public finances. She has been working for about 23 years in the Court of Accounts, currently being the head of the General Audit Directorate I (State budget and central public authorities).
71 deputies voted for the appointment of Mrs. Trofim as a member of the CoARM.
At today's plenary session, the new member of the Court of Accounts took the oath.
In the same context, Tatiana Șevciuc, President of the CoARM presented today Mrs. Trofim, to the subdivision managers, highly appreciating her experience, skills and professionalism in the process of improving the management of public finances.
Good to mention that, according to Article 17 of Law no. 260 of 07.12.2017 on the organization and functioning of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova, the members of the Court of Accounts, except for the President, are appointed by the Parliament for a term of 5 years, at the proposal of the President of the Court of Accounts, on the basis of a public competition, with the vote of the majority of the elected deputies.
