The Courts of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine will sign a new cooperation agreement

A delegation of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM), led by the President of the institution, Marian Lupu, will pay a working visit to Kiev, Ukraine, on August 19-21, at the invitation of the leadership of the Court of Accounts of Ukraine.

The event is part of the aspirations to boost bilateral relations between the two supreme audit institutions and was initiated following the recent visit of CoARM’s representatives to the Odessa region, in the context of assessing the situation of the Republic of Moldova abroad.

Thus, following the cooperation initiated by the representatives of the institutions in Odessa, were identified common directions and objectives of activity and institutional development, including concerning the aspirations to develop external public audit according to the international standards, directions stipulated in the National Association Agreements of the both countries with the European Union.

The main objective of the recent visit is to sign a new Bilateral Cooperation Agreement, based on developments in the field of external public audit at international level and the strategic directions of the two institutions in the 20 years since the signing of the previous agreement.

Also, during the visit, are planned official meetings with the leadership of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine, in order to discuss the good practices of cooperation between the supreme audit institutions and the legislative institutions as well as other topics of common interest.
