Visit of experts from the Swedish National Audit Office, in the context of the technical assistance project

On April 22-25, a delegation of experts from the National Audit Office of Sweden (ONAS) made a working visit to the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM), in the context of the activities to start the 6th -th stage of the technical assistance project, implemented with the support of ONAS.

The ONAS team was made up of experts Kameran Khudur, senior international advisor, project manager of the 5th stage of the project, Vanessa Liu, senior international advisor, the new ONAS project manager, who will take over the management of the 6th stage of the CoARM-ONAS project, Karin Holmerin, senior international advisor and Katica Dineva, senior financial auditor.

During the meetings with Tatiana Șevciuc, President of the Court of Accounts, results of the previous stage of the technical assistance project, developments and progress recorded in the areas that were the focus of the previous support, as well as the CoARM expectations and the support and development needs for the next working period were discussed.

Throughout the mission, information sessions and discussions were organized on the three components of the 6th stage of the project, agreed at the end of the previous stage: human resources management, management and leadership, performance audit. Moreover, the results of the previous components of the project, such as the certification of financial auditors and quality assurance, were discussed, and it was agreed to continue the dialogue on the possible expansion of the fields covered by the 6th stage of cooperation, by including the development activities of these two fields.

Also, technical discussions were organized with other development partners to coordinate joint support and to identify common points of synergy for organizing joint activities. Thus, ONAS experts and CoARM cooperation officers had discussions with Josip Juric, project manager of the EU Delegation and Silvija Nora Kalniņš, head of the international relations and development subdivision.

We mention that the cooperation with the National Audit Office of Sweden was launched in 2007 and has so far included 5 completed stages of the project, ONAS being the main institutional development partner of the Court of Accounts.
