TFMA EUROSAI meeting, Vilnius, Lithuania

The CoA was invited to participate at the TFMA EUROSAI meeting. The first activity TFMA EUROSAI was organized in the period 11-12 April 2017 at Vilnius, Lithuania.

The event was initiated and organized by the SAI of Lithuania and participated more than 50 representatives from 26 countries members of the EUROSAI.

Mrs. Irina Gutnic, Chief of the General Division, represented the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova.

EUROSAI TFMA was established in June 2016, when the EUROSAI Governing Board supported the initiative of the SAI of Lithuania to join the SAI members of EUROSAI, which are interested in the issues on Municipality audit. TFMA's activities will be aimed at improving the municipal audit system and its processes in a way that the results of the audit will bring positive changes to the residents of the municipality and benefits for every citizen.

The Lithuanian Supreme Audit Institution, as the initiator of this idea, assumed the responsibility of chairing TFMA and will further coordinate its activities and communication, both between TFMA members and between its external partners. Moreover, the Supreme Audit Institution has come up with the initiative and intends to implement one of the measures of the work program, to carry out the analysis of the municipal systems in the EUROSAI countries.

It is expected that this monitoring will reveal best organizational practices of the municipal audit and will provide a basis for positive change in this area, both in Lithuania and in other countries.
