From 4 to 6 June 2024, in The Hague, the Netherlands, a regional workshop "Improving impact through cooperation with stakeholders" of the Constituency Program of the Court of Accounts of the Netherlands was organized. The workshop was a continuation of 2 workshops organized online in 2024 within the program, organized for the purpose of exchanging experience in the field of collaboration and communication with stakeholders, to increase the impact.
New participants joined the program in 2024, the total list including: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Ukraine.
The workshop was opened by Barbara Joziasse, Vice-President of the Court of Accounts of the Netherlands, who emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and the common goal of increasing the impact of ISA through the effective involvement of stakeholders.
The exchange objectives of the three-day workshop focused on understanding audit impact, identifying stakeholders, choosing impact strategy, how to achieve audit impact, understanding different types of impact, encouraging innovative thinking, defining their own impact tools and using them.
Through the active participation of the representatives of the Court of Accounts and sharing of good practices and experience in achieving impact and working with stakeholders, the CoARM has been able to assume the active role of ISA sharing and disseminating its experience internationally. Moreover, participation in the workshop cycle provided the opportunity to inform and discuss the theoretical and practical aspects of improving the impact of the activity of the supreme audit institution through the involvement of interested parties.
This program was launched in 2022 and included a cycle of four online workshops for the exchange of experience between the participating ISAs, with the involvement of employees with activity in the relevant to the topics discussed fields - planning and engagement with external stakeholders, in order to strengthen the capacities of the ISA in these areas.
The topics addressed were focused on developing a multiannual program, with an emphasis on impact; risk analysis, setting priorities, maximizing the audit impact on citizens; external orientation, stakeholders involvement, citizens and civil society in audit selection, reporting of results to increase impact; ensuring and strengthening the impact of the audit during the audit cycle or after subsequent reporting.
The 2024 cycle of workshops continues the collaboration of ISA from the Netherlands within the EU and with EU candidate countries as part of the Constituency Program. For the past two years, regional collaboration has focused on strategic audit programming. In 2024, the focus is on audit implementation and impact.
