During the current June 4-5, the representative of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) participated in the last, the 9th meeting of the Monitoring Committee for the Joint Operational Program Black Sea Basin 2014-2020, including the closing conference of the ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Program 2014-2020. The event took place in the city of Constanța, Romania.
The purpose of the event was to present the main achievements and challenges of the implementation period, as well as the lessons learned that can be useful for the Interreg NEXT BMN Program.
The events brought together the management and control structures of the Program, from all 8 participating states, such as Turkey, Greece, Georgia, Bulgaria, Armenia, Romania, Moldova, etc., representatives of the European Commission, Audit Authority, TESIM project and beneficiaries.
The authorities responsible for managing the Program highlighted its significant results, mentioning the challenges encountered, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to harmonize the legislative framework.
During the conference, several projects successfully completed by each country participating in the Program were presented, including the WINET Project from Moldova.
To mention that the Program had an implementation period of 8 years and totaled 548 applications submitted, 2339 applicants, 57 projects financed, with a total value of 48.8 million EURO, 281 beneficiaries and 34 small scale investments in cultural and creative infrastructure, infrastructure related to the tourism sector and ports, or in infrastructure dedicated to environmental protection and monitoring. The European Commission emphasized the need to continue communicating and ensuring the visibility of project results and success stories in the coming period.
