Working meeting of the SAIs participating in the international cooperative audit on plastic waste management

A new working meeting, organized within the EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Audit, was organized online on March 25.

The event brought together representatives of 11 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs), members of the working group, participating in the international cooperative audit on plastic waste management: Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Malta, Portugal, Northern Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Turkey. The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CoARM) was represented by the members of the group: Tatiana Vozian, Head of the General Methodology, Planning and Reporting Department and Natalia Apostol, main public auditor.

During the meeting, the SAI representatives participating in the audit made presentations on the local context of the topic, discussing policies, plans, strategies applied at national level to implement proper management of plastic waste and to improve the efficiency of the use of existing materials and products (according to the assumptions of the circular economy). Natalia Apostol presented the situation in this field, at national level, talking about the policies and strategic documents of the Republic of Moldova in the context of waste management, etc.
